The Conservancy

Lakeshore Park Conservancy is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation whose mission is to manage, preserve, and enhance the Park and to build a community dedicated to conserving the Park for the future.

Conservation First
Held by the Land Trust for Tennessee, the conservation easement on Lakeshore Park ensures that the natural, scenic and recreational values of the185 acre site are protected and the land will remain a public park in perpetuity. Any development must be carried out in a manner that preserves the conservation values of the site, and any material changes must be reviewed and approved by the Land Trust and in accordance with the approved Master Plan.
Future Developments
An updated Master Plan was developed and approved in 2020. The resulting Phase 2 Part 1 improvements, which included the baseball complex, pickleball courts, 3 new pavilions, the amphitheater, the adult fitness center and 2 new playgrounds, opened in 2024. Phase 2 Part 2 will begin in the fall of 2025 and will include additional road work, improvements at the hilltop next to the administration building and the lawn between Marble Hall and Marble Pavilion.
Community Focused
Lakeshore Park is a unique joint public/private partnership between the non-profit Conservancy and the City of Knoxville. Founded in 1996, the Conservancy has spearheaded all of the projects that have enhanced the Park’s beauty and appeal.
Ongoing Support
Your financial support is vital to the ongoing operation of Lakeshore Park. The Conservancy's work is founded upon the belief that citizen leadership and private giving are key to ensuring that the Park and its essential purposes endure.
